Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 October 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

By opening this site or running a search you agree to these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to create a purchase. Searching is intended for adults; see the children’s section of our privacy policy.

2. What the service is

ZonScan is a reverse username search. You give it a handle and it checks whether that same string is publicly registered on a set of platforms, returning a link to each public profile page it finds.

The service reads public pages only. It does not authenticate to any platform, does not use anyone’s account, and does not attempt to reach content a platform has made private.

Results are produced by automated checks of publicly reachable pages. They describe what a page returned at the moment of the request — not who a person is, and not whether two accounts belong to the same individual.

3. Accounts and access

The core search is usable without an account. If sign-in is offered, it is passwordless: you submit an email address and, if you are who you say you are, receive a one-time link.

You are responsible for keeping access to that email address secure. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has gained access to your session.

We may suspend access where we reasonably believe these terms are being breached, where the service is being abused, or where we are required to by law.

4. Plans, billing and renewals

Some features are sold as plans: a one-time single report, a weekly subscription, and a lifetime licence. The price, billing interval and inclusions shown on the pricing page at the moment you check out are the ones that apply to your purchase.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the stated interval until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. One-time and lifetime purchases do not renew.

When a payment provider is connected, checkout and card handling happen on that provider’s hosted page. We do not receive or store your card number. Where no provider is configured, the checkout screen on this deployment is a local simulation used for testing and no money is taken.

Prices are shown in US dollars and may change for future billing periods. A price change never applies retroactively to a period you have already paid for.

5. Acceptable use

You may use the service to verify your own digital footprint, to check that someone you met online is who they claim to be, to confirm a marketplace counterparty, to protect a brand or a creator identity, and for research and educational purposes.

You may not use the service to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate or dox anyone. You may not use it to build profiles of people who have not published their information themselves, to compile lists of individuals for targeting, or to assist any of the above.

You may not scrape or harvest results, resell or redistribute them as a data product, run automated bulk queries, attempt to bypass rate limits, or use the service to build a competing dataset.

You may not use the service to break the law of your jurisdiction or the jurisdiction of the person you are searching for. Where a search would be unlawful for you, it is also a breach of these terms.

6. The public-data boundary

This service is a reader of public pages, not an access tool. It does not defeat privacy settings, does not retrieve deleted content, and does not confirm or deny the existence of private accounts beyond what a public page already reveals.

A match is a starting point for your own verification. A handle can be reused by different people, and an absence of results says nothing about whether an account exists. Do not present a result as proof of identity.

7. Intellectual property

The site, its design, its text and its scanning engine belong to the operator of this service. You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for the purposes described above.

Profile content you view through a result belongs to the platform or the person who published it. We claim no ownership of it, and your use of it may be governed by that platform’s own terms.

Do not copy, mirror or republish substantial parts of this service, including its guide library, without written permission.

8. Availability and changes to the service

Platforms change their pages constantly. Coverage may expand, shrink or fail platform by platform, and a probe may be blocked, rate-limited or answered with an unrelated page. The service is provided as it is at the time you use it.

We may modify, deprecate or remove features. Where a change materially reduces what you paid for, we will say so on the site rather than quietly removing it.

9. No warranty

The service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that results are accurate, complete, current or correctly attributed, that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular platform will be reachable. Automated checks of public pages cannot guarantee a factual conclusion, and you agree not to rely on them as if they could.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, reputational harm or decisions you made on the basis of a search result.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the plan that gave rise to it in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Refunds

If a paid scan returns no profiles at all, ask us for a refund and we will return the full amount for that report. This is the situation the guarantee on the pricing page describes.

Subscription periods already in progress are generally not refunded once you have used the service within them, but if something is broken, tell us and we will look at it. Statutory rights in your jurisdiction apply in addition to this section and take precedence where they conflict with it.

12. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time, and you may cancel a subscription from the account or support channel that controls it.

We may terminate access if you materially breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if continuing to serve you would expose the service or another person to harm. On termination, the sections of these terms that by their nature survive — intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law — continue to apply.

13. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Consumer protections available to you in your own country are unaffected.

Questions about these terms can be raised through the support channel listed on the checkout page. Where these terms and the platform’s stated behaviour disagree, tell us — the wording on this page is meant to match what the product does.
